People with even the most minimal musical knowledge recognize the name Beethoven as an august and classical composer. Most are also aware that he became deaf later in life and was known to have a sporadic temper. Beyond these basic assumptions, this research looks to unearth not only the psychological aspects of Beethoven’s personal life, but also how those aspects and other major events in his life affect his composition. Beethoven was born in December of 1770, baptized on the 17th, in the small city of Bonn, Germany. He came from a musical family, his grandfather having been the†¦show more content†¦This is the first hint of personal events impacting the style of Beethoven’s music. Others that lived on the Bonngasse included the Salomons, the father, which played fiddle for the opera, two daughters who sang in court, and an impresario violinist that travelled and performed in Berlin and London. Others included the Rieses’, who Ludwig took violin lesso ns from, and Simrock, who was a hornist. (Schauffler). On the Bonngasse there was a string trio that often played together at the Beethoven/Salomon household. The first example of a composition that Beethoven wrote based on social interactions was his String Trio in E Flat (Op. 3). This composition from early in his development was called a â€Å"delightful composition [that] reveals its maker as a young chap who had plumbed the distressful vicissitudes of the amateur string quartet party† (Schauffler). Being around this class and style of musician helped form the some of his earliest music, most of which was based heavily the practices of famous musicians and composers before him. The criminal justice system keeps criminals in line if its incarceration, probation, or fines it somewhat deters people from committing crimes. It does not keep everyone from not breaking the law because if that was possible than we wouldn’t need any police, prisons, judges, and so on. The criminal justice system can go from anywhere from the cops to the Supreme Court. It’s not all about the little petty crimes but also protects against corporations over charging on necessities of life like food, and medications. In a perfect world we wouldn’t need any of this and people would be honest and truth worthy but now we all know that is impossible. Cops help make the communities safer and make the people feel that they shouldn’t have to worry about crime in their exact communities. Of course every community has their own problems maybe drugs or theft but with cops presence it helps somewhat to keep people in line. Crime prevention isn’t 100% but at least it does help as much as it can and it’s changing everyday with the changes of economy and changes of crimes. I’m sure everyone has heard of this program. D. A. R. E stands for Drug abuse resistance education. I know in school I had to take this program I want to say in either fourth or fifth grade. This program was founded in California in 1983. In this program it helps to teach children to say no to drugs. It also teaches children that by telling an adult they can help save other children that aren’t strong enough to say no. I believe the D. A. R. E program is a very good one but they should also give like a refresher course once in middle school. I know that when I started hearing of people doing drugs. Another good program is Neighborhood watch. This program is where people from a neighborhood come together to take turns on watching their surrounding houses. A example of this would be say someone is going out of town they may have a neighbor watch the house by bringing in their mail, (depending on how well you know them) they could turn the lights on and off to make it look like someone is always there. The neighborhood watch also looks out for odd vehicles, or strange people in the area. I know in my communities we are very close, we watch each other’s houses as if they are our own. The Years of Decay(1989) by Overkill free essay sample

One of my personal favorite thrash metal bands of all time comes back in an appearance here. I actually just realized Im doing this review because I saw them in concert in October. Perhaps I should do the same for Symphony X. Anyway, these guys are an American thrash metal band since 1980 and have formed in the state of New Jersey, so their music is not gonna be fit for radio no matter what you do. Having had pretty consistent albums since their first release and still trucking today with Bobby Ellsworth sounding like hes still young, this is a band many will recognize as a great band for the ages. Although to newcomers, this is not an album I would recommend. The Years of Decay contains the classic setlist of 8 tracks that was popular for there time. Each of those 8 tracks has something to offer you other than a brutal whiplash. Elimination is more or less a single. Although its interesting to point out that the main riff to this sounds oddly like Metallicas Master of Puppets. Im half sure thats on purpose but its still a fun song none the less, plus it gets in twice the energy in half the time. The title track has more of a melodic touch, as does I Hate, and can easily transition to clean sounding guitars to epic thrash-packs in an instant, and do so pretty well. Plus a nice bonus is that its pretty long, about 8 minutes, and thus has more time to execute such sounds and melodic transitions, as with Who Tends the Fire. I Hate is a bit more on the punky side and is pretty good and I feel Im just gushing from here on. It will be a fun 50 or so minutes to sit and enjoy because of it. In case youre wondering, my favor ite tracks from this are Skullkrusher Elimination and The Years of Decay. It leaves a very dirty aftertaste afterwards once you decide to leave the amazing stuff here, but in a good way. Why? Because Overkill was always meant to sound incredibly thrashy, dirty and take no prisoners. I thinks its pretty easy to see why I love it so much. Is it perfect? Not really, the sound could be less raw sounding and still be similar here as weve seen in their most recent work. But thats more of a very minor nitpick here and it is already great as it is.
